During the two evenings without power we had minimal—yet sufficient—lighting, and one soon learned to cope with it.
Interestingly, my first thought when I walked inside Tuesday evening after the electricity had been restored was that the lighting seemed so awfully BRIGHT—almost TOO bright!
When I mentioned this observation to Cindy, she added that we should turn off the main breakers at 8:30 PM so the kids will get in bed earlier!
Since as US citizens we are told every day by the media that we are over-eating, over-spending, over-polluting, over-consuming (you pick the flavor-of-the-day consumption crisis—oil, gas, ice cream, butter, prescriptions.....), over-reacting, over-invading, and of course over-warming, maybe OVER-LIGHTING should be added to the list of reasons for shuddering with guilt when thinking about this great nation (at least for those so inclined).
Knock yourselves out, ye self-flagellators!
